A Numerical Model for Solving Three-Dimensional Rolling Contact Problems with Elastic Coating Layers

Abstract In this work, a numerical model is proposed for three-dimensional rolling contact problems with one or two elastic layers, and the tangential solution emphasized. Previous works on topic have mostly been two-dimensional, in which only longitudinal creepage has considered. With presented all possible creepages, such as longitudinal, lateral spin creepages are taken into account. order to improve calculation efficiency, conjugate gradient method FFT technique employed. The influence coefficients displacement stress obtained from corresponding frequency response functions. results validated against existing good agreement can be found. effects of different layers’ thicknesses moduli under combinations traction distribution stick/slip investigated. It seen that by adjusting layer parameters modified significantly, it may, therefore, very useful information improving fatigue mitigating wear various mechanical systems. Graphical
